We are currently seeking highly dependable, mature, and reliable Caregivers who love to care for the elderly and want to make a difference in the lives of seniors! Our Caregivers provide personal care, transportation, and support services to clients in a Comfort Keepers established Personal Care Program.

Our ideal Caregiver has a high school diploma or GED and previous experience caring for seniors and/or the disabled. He or she must have basic math and computer skills, good communication skills in English, and reliable transportation. Applicants must show satisfactory completion of any stated mandated training, testing, and certifications/licenses; must be bondable; and must be able to pass the required training and orientation program, and all background checks. Retirees are encouraged to apply.


  • Successfully completes the Comfort Keepers new-hire orientation program and pre-assignment training
  • Accepts responsibility for continuous learning and adherence to Comfort Keepers policies and procedures
  • Functions competently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision and maintains satisfactory relationships with clients, their family members, and Comfort Keepers administrative staff
  • Follows spoken and written instructions and documents services provided, as required
  • Demonstrates genuine concern for helping people and high moral standards of honesty and integrity
  • Performs duties as assigned on the client Plan of Care
  • Helps clients with activities of daily living by providing any of the Comfort Keepers approved personal care activities, including, but not limited to, bathing, transferring (Hoyer Lift), dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and/or ambulation
  • Provides for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients by completing light housekeeping tasks including laundering of client’s garments and linens and changing the bed
  • Helps client meet nutritional needs by planning and preparing meals, grocery shopping, and cleaning dishes and kitchen
  • Helps the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Plan of Care
  • Reminds client to take self-administered medications
  • Observes and reports any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, Comfort Keepers staff, and co-workers
  • Participates in in-service and continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested by immediate supervisor
  • Completes required documentation/electronic recording of services delivered and submits to office in a timely manner according to policy (i.e. money handling receipts, mileage, tasks, clocking in and out, etc.)
  • Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly, which includes using proper body mechanics
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding client information
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills and regular access to a computer required
  • Must show satisfactory completion of any state mandated training, testing, and certifications/licenses, including a tuberculosis skin test within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance. CPR and First Aid training preferred, but will train if needed.
  • Must be bondable
  • Must meet or exceed the minimum qualifications for required background checks, including Criminal Background Investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record check, and Professional and Personal Reference Checks
  • Reliable transportation in order to fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
  • Must be willing and able to work in the client's home setting and use client's automobile, which may include risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be mentally and emotionally fit for duty, which includes making decisions under duress (emergencies, injuries, etc.) and supporting Alzheimer/Dementia and hospice clients
  • Able to follow spoken and written instructions and document services provided
  • Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision
  • Able to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, family, and team members
